Dr. Daniel Bartling was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Technology with aspirations to fulfill a career in dentistry. Daniel went on to attend dental school at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2014. After dental school, he began a 12 month Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Following the completion of his residency program Daniel and his wife moved to Iowa City, Iowa where he completed his Endodontic Residency. Daniel had the opportunity to interact with all dental specialties, as University of Iowa was one of two schools in the nation that offers all nine specialties. This allowed Daniel to embrace his love for collaboration and be involved in the entire treatment planning process. Daniel’s training had an intense focus on the use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) as well as the most cutting edge scientific literature, allowing him to make the most current evidence-based decision making in his practice.

After two years in the Midwest, they moved to Richmond, VA where Daniel joined a group of 60 dentists serving as the in-house Endodontist. He is now a resident of Frederick, MD and looking forward to growing new roots. He currently serves on the Continuing Education Committee for the American Association of Endodontics where he reviews and helps plan dental conferences throughout the year. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, Frederick County Dental Society and study clubs in the area. He also enjoys volunteering his time to teach dental students at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Another significant part of Daniel’s life revolves around enjoying a wide variety of outdoor activities including skiing, biking, golfing, kayaking and ultimate frisbee. He also experiments with different styles of cooking including anything from traditional Italian recipes to fusion-style Asian cuisine and homemade sushi. Most of his cooking inspiration has come from his large extended family who are scattered around West Virginia and Pittsburgh.

Daniel loves interacting with his patients, staff and referring dentists. He is always open to getting together for any sort informational presentation about dentistry or even just a short meet and greet. Please do not hesitate to contact him for any help you may need.
